I built this entire bench using nothing but 2x4’s… And it cost me less than $50

Tools and Materials

Tools:

  • Drill + Driver

  • Table saw

  • 2 1/2” wood screws (100)

  • Sander

  • Clamps

Materials:

  • 2x4x8 (9)

  • Wood glue

  • Stain and finish of choice

  • Right angle brackets (4)

Cut List:

  • 48” x 3” x 1.5” (10)

  • 15” x 3” x 1.5” (20)

Step 1

Cut all the wood to size and cut the rounded sides off each piece with the table saw so each piece is 3” wide.

Step 2

Glue up the two side legs. Stack each piece on top of each other, making sure they are flush and use wood glue and the wood screws to put them together.

When you get to the last 2 outer boards just apply glue and clamp them together, so the screws don’t show!

Step 3

Repeat step 2 for the top of the bench.

Step 4

Attach the top to the legs using heavy duty right angle brackets.

Sand, stain and youve made an easy bench!
